In Canada, restaurants are not legally obligated to accept returns on food unless it’s defective. However, you can return food at Ankabut, including perishable and partially eaten items, because of our 100% satisfaction guarantee. The main requirement is that you should be returning at least 80% of the item, especially if it’s for quality issues or you don’t like the taste. You can also return food that has spoiled before its sell-by date.
When you can return food
- Quality issues:
If food is spoiled, tastes off, or has other quality problems, you can return it even if it’s opened and partially eaten.
- Spoiled before expiration:
If an item goes bad before its sell-by or best-by date, you can get a refund. Take a picture as proof if you can’t return it right away.
- Unsatisfactory taste:
You can return food if you simply don’t like the taste, but you need to be reasonable about how much you’ve eaten.
What to keep in mind
- Return at least 80%:
To get a refund, you must have at least 80% of the item remaining, especially if you are returning it because you didn’t like the taste or quality.
- Don’t abuse the policy:
While we are lenient with returns, we track purchase history linked to your payment method and CCTV. Frequent or excessive returns of partially eaten food can lead ban to our store.
- Check for exceptions:
While most food is returnable, there may be certain exceptions, so it’s a good idea to ask the specific return policy before purchasing.
